If your customers need a reliable way to fasten, organise or mount light items, hook and loop tapes are a great option to keep in stock.
Hook and loop tapes have a strong grip, making them ideal for a wide range of applications across various industries. Our tapes also offer trustworthy, long-lasting bindings for safely mounting lightweight products and bundling things like office cables.
At Stylus Tapes, we supply hook and loop tapes through our approved distributor network. If you are a distributor and would like to add these tapes to your product range, contact our team today.
If you are an end-user, we can provide product advice and connect you with an authorised distributor who stocks the hook and loop products you need. Fill out this form and we’ll be in touch.Â
An overview of hook and loop tapes
Hook and loop fasteners consist of two pieces of nylon: a softer ‘loop’ side and a rougher ‘hook’ side.Â

When pressed together, these create a robust closure. The tiny hooks on the hook side interact with every tiny loop on the fuzzy side to form a strong relationship that is easy to pull apart when you’re ready to undo it.
A 5cm piece of hook and loop fasteners is strong enough to hold a human weighing 79kg. This impressive strength makes it a practical tape to order in wholesale quantities, as it can be used for anything from securing kids’ shoes to fastening down equipment on the International Space Station.
Different types of hook and loop tapes
Hook and loop products come in several formats, and each one plays a different role in organising, bundling, or mounting lightweight items. Here are the options Stylus Tapes offers:
- Self-adhesive hook and loop tape: A nylon roll with a high-tack, hotmelt adhesive. It’s made for indoor use and for sticking lightweight items to surfaces. Cut to any length.
- Double-sided hook and loop rolls: A non-adhesive roll with a hook on one side and a loop on the other. It wraps back onto itself to fasten items and is reusable more than 5,000 times.
- Self-adhesive hook and loop dots: Pre-cut 22 mm circles with a high-tack, hotmelt adhesive. It’s ideal for quickly sticking lightweight items together indoors.
- Hook and loop wrap: These pre-cut non-adhesive strips made from nylon are designed for bundling or organising items, and are reusable more than 5,000 times. Suitable for indoor and short-term outdoor use.
If you’re a distributor and aren’t sure which hook and loop products to add to your stock, our team can help you choose the best fit.Â

What to consider before buying hook and loop tape
When choosing which hook and loop tape to purchase in your wholesale order, it helps to consider the jobs your customers will need it for. We recommend speaking directly with your customers to understand their needs and/or contacting our experts for advice.Â
Before making a bulk order, you’ll want to assess the following:
- Application and environment: Wraps can be used indoors and short-term outdoors, while self-adhesive rolls and dots are designed for indoor use only.
- Adhesive vs. non-adhesive: Our wraps have a non-adhesive nylon backing, making them suitable for cable management and general organising, while rolls and dots use a high-tack hotmelt adhesive that can be used for mounting lightweight items.
- Widths and lengths: Wraps are available in 19mm and 25mm widths. The narrower 19mm option works well for smaller cables and lighter organising, while the wider 25mm option provides more surface contact for a stronger grip.
- Reusability: All our hook and loop tapes are made from nylon and can be reclosed more than 5,000 times.
- Order amount: Our team can confirm minimum quantities and current availability. We can also provide you with delivery timeframes.Â

How do you use hook and loop tape?
Self-adhesive hook and loop tape is straightforward to use, but it’s important to share with your customers how to apply it correctly so it performs as intended.
Here’s how to apply hook and loop tape.
- Before applying, make sure that the surface is clean, dry, and free of dust.
- Cut equal hook and loop tape strips to your desired length and peel off the back layer that protects the adhesive. Avoid touching the adhesive side of the tape, as moisture and oils from your skin can weaken its sticking power.
- Apply the tape with light but firm pressure, ensuring there are no air pockets and the tape is straight. Repeat this step with the other surface you want to stick together. It’s important to ensure that one side has the hook tape and the other has the loops.
- Using your fingertips, press the two surfaces together to join.
- The hook and loop tape should now be firmly attached. To test the tape’s strength, try unfastening and fastening the surfaces again.

FAQs
What is the minimum order quantity for wholesale tape?
Minimum order quantities vary by product and distributor, but most of our wholesale orders are supplied in full carton quantities. Contact our team and we can confirm the current minimum order requirements for any tape in our range.
Is hook and loop tape waterproof?
No. There are no genuinely waterproof, marine-grade hook and loop fasteners available. While some can be water resistant, all hook and loop materials will eventually degrade if exposed to continuous UV light, water, or salt.
What is the difference between hook and loop tape and Velcro?
Hook and loop tape is the general term, while Velcro is a brand name. Stylus Tapes’ hook and loop products use the same fastening mechanism and are built for trade use, with durable nylon and the ability to be reused 5,000 times.
