About Eco Friendly Paper Tapes
Our Kraft Paper Tapes are the ultimate solution for eco friendly packaging. Most, if not all of the tape can be recycled, along with the cardboard it’s stuck to.
What are the types of Paper Tape?
Stylus has paper tapes for every packaging application, with a range of three different types of adhesives; Acrylic (Good), Hotmelt (Better) and Natural Rubber (Best).
- Acrylic: Suitable for light weight packaging on virgin board. Stylus 280A
- Hotmelt: Suitable for medium to heavy duty packaging on recycled and virgin board. Ubis 4800, Ubis 4801 (FSC) and Ubis 4850 (Reinforced).
- Natural Rubber: UV resistant and suitable for cold temperature applications and medium to heavy duty packaging on recycled and virgin board. Ubis 4805 (FSC).
FSC Certified paper tapes means that the paper in the backing and cores have been sourced from responsibly managed plantations.
For heavy duty packaging, reinforced fibreglass is added to the backing to give the tape more strength. These are the straight lines or strands that you see on the tape.
Can Paper tape be recycled?
Yes, paper tape can be mostly recycled along with the cardboard it is stuck to. During the pulping process, anything that isn’t recyclable such as hotmelt and acrylic adhesives or the fibreglass reinforcement float to the top and are removed. Importantly, it doesn’t contaminate the cardboard from being recycled.
Can paper tape be custom printed?
UBIS 4801 and 4805 can be custom printed on. UBIS SP4800 is the printed version of Ubis 4800
