What are Eco Friendly Tapes?

Stylus Tapes is excited to lead Australia’s eco and environmentally friendly adhesive tape category.

These are tapes that can be recycled or composted, and may be made from biobased or recycled materials. They can help your business or customers comply with the 2025 National Packaging Targets facilitated by APCO and are a great alternative to polypropylene packaging tape which cannot be easily recycled or composted.

When buying eco-friendly tape, look out for a certification that your packaging tape meets the Australian Standard for industrial compostability (AS4736) and not just biodegradable or if it’s a paper tape, the FSC certification means the paper is from sustainable forestry.

Different Types of Eco Friendly Tape

Compostable Packaging Tape: Our AS4736 industrial clear compostable tape are made from Polylactic Acid (PLA) and natural rubber adhesive and are suitable for sealing and heavy packaging.

Recycled Packaging Tapes: These tapes are from recycled materials, which makes them part of the circular economy. They are suitable for heavy duty packaging.

Eco Friendly Paper Tapes: Our Kraft Paper Tapes can be recycled along with cardboard cartons and are suitable for heavy duty packaging. Our new range of paper tapes are FSC certified and can be printed on.

PVC Free Duct Tape: Free of lead and PVC which are usually in duct tape and toxic to humans and the environment. Suitable for a wide variety of temporary sealing and joining applications

Eco Friendly Envelopes: Lopes are an essential part of packaging for securing documents and paperwork safely to the outside of cartons. Stylus’ Ecolopes are plastic free and made from FSC tissue paper.
